I’ve had my car for about two years now, and it’s never had a proper professional clean, just the usual manual wash every week or two. It’s starting to feel a bit tired inside and out. The paint looks ok from a distance, but up close in the right light I can see lots of fine scratches, probably from all the dust over time. Inside, the carpets are clean but the leather on the seats feels a bit dry and I think there’s some dirt ground into the stitching that I can’t get out with wipes. I want to book a proper session to get it sorted, but when I look at detailer websites, the packages can be confusing. Some focus heavily on the exterior paint correction and ceramic coatings, while others push interior steam cleaning and ozone treatment. I’m looking for some practical interior and exterior detailing advice from people who have been through this. For a car that’s driven every day in this climate, what are the most important things to include in a one off deep detail? Should I prioritise having the paint decontaminated and polished to remove those light swirls, or is getting the interior leather properly conditioned and protected from the sun more critical for preserving the car long term? And what about things like the engine bay or undercarriage, are those worth paying extra for? I’d really appreciate hearing what made the biggest difference to your car’s look and feel after a proper detail.
